The NASSL is an independent, non-governmental body consisting of Sri Lanka’s leading scientists. It provides expert, evidence-based advice on matters of national importance in science and technology, while advancing and sharing scientific knowledge for the benefit of society.
The National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science are proud to champion the “Rebuild Trust in Science” initiative, a national movement aimed at strengthening public confidence in science, technology, and innovation across Sri Lanka. Supported by leading private sector corporates, the initiative seeks to inspire students, educators, policymakers, and communities by showcasing how science and technology can drive sustainable development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and wealth generation for the nation.
The National Academy of Sciences of Sri Lanka (NASSL), together with the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS), proudly presents සයන්ස් කරලා ගොඩ යමු (Champion through Science) — a flagship episode series under the 3‑year National Initiative “Rebuild Trust in Science”.
Through this series, leading experts from diverse fields share their knowledge and insights, showing how science empowers people, strengthens communities, and addresses pressing national challenges.
Episodes air on Derana TV, and are available online for wider access. Each episode highlights the vital role of science in shaping a better future for Sri Lanka.
